Volunteer Sign-Up

 

The countdown to the 2023 Canadian Ringette Championship is on. If you’re interested in volunteering for a great event and helping to host guests from across Canada, please sign up to volunteer.  As usual, the success of this event always results from all our passionate volunteers.

Please refer to the information provided at the bottom of this page to ensure you are comfortable with performing the duties involved with the position you sign up for.

The volunteer sign-up sheet has been split up into multiple tabs, based on the duties.  Once you are in the sign-up sheet, to navigate to a different list of duties, click on the appropriate tab at the top of your screen (on a laptop), or select the list you want from the drop-down list at the top of your device (mobile device).

Sunday, April 9th - Saturday, April 15th

Sign up for general duties throughout the week - Greeters, Admissions, Merchandise Sales, 50/50 Ticket Sales, Rink Runners, etc

Volunteer roles:

 

  • Team Ambassadors - refer to the Team Ambassador webpage (CLICK HERE)

  • Opening ceremonies - TBD

  • Event Host Table - Team check-in and assist with coordination of the activities for the event.

  • Greeters/Admissions - Meet & greet guests at entrances, check & validate accreditation ticketing for event, provide logistic direction for locations & selling single game day/ multi day pack tickets.

  • 50/50 ticket sales -  Responsible for selling tickets for the 50/50 raffle that will be drawn at the end of the weekend. You will be handling money and handing out change.

  • Merchandise sales - Sale of clothing and merchandise.

  • Timekeepers -  Responsible for operating rink scoreboard.

  • Scorekeepers -  Accurately record score, time and statistics.

  • Penalty Box workers -  Your primary job is to open and close the penalty box door for penalized players, and to ensure the penalized player(s) keeps themselves under control.

  • Game Announcers/Music -  You will be an announcer, responsible for letting people know when to stand for the national anthem, announcing the teams playing, who scored the goals, and general informational announcements when needed - Looking for Bilingual individuals as all information has to be in French and English. Music person is responsible for playing music in between every play and period during the home games. 

  • Skills Competition Helpers -  Assist with drills during skill competition. Also, assist players to understand drills and co-ordinate the teams as they get on and off the ice.

  • Security - Ensuring only athletes, team staff & Ringette Canada staff are the only ones entering designated areas.

  • Rink Runners - Running score sheets , equipment, etc. where needed.

  • Event coordinator - Supports various sections of the event during game days.

  • Floor Support / Floater - On Ice & Off Ice roles.

  • Shuttle Drivers -  Drive Ringette Canada officials between events & locations.

Some task-related volunteer interviews may be required during the recruitment period.  If you have previously volunteered for Ringette, or other events, please let us know about your experience and any special skills you may have.  Training sessions will be required for some positions in late March or early April.
